George Linwood Struder, 84, of Fredericksburg, passed away Thursday May 9, 2013
at Mary Washington Hospital.
He served in the US Navy from Aug 1946 to Aug. 1949. George married Mary F. Gray in 1950, and she preceded him in death.
He was a lab technician for FMC and then with Virginia Semiconductor until his retirement.
George loved working with his hands and filled his time buying and fixing up old houses.
He was a member of the Highway Assembly of God in Fredericksburg.
Survivors include: 2 daughters; Wanda and her husband David Morris; Arlene and her husband Tommy Toombs, both of Spotsylvania; 2 grandsons: Jonathan and his wife Karen Toombs and Patrick Snellings.
The family will receive friends Tuesday May 14 from 10 to 11 a.m. and funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dick Jackson officiating, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, Va. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to Highway Assembly of God, 2221 Jefferson Davis Hwy. Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
