George Tyler Wood, Jr., (Age 73), of Spotsylvania, VA., passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at his home. Loving husband of 53 years to Wanda K. Wood; devoted father of Kim (Brad) Baughman and Scott (Jessica) Wood; cherished grandfather of Kristen Timis, Hunter Wood, Sydney (TJ) Shaffer and Blake Baughman; great-grandfather of Gabriel and Jase Timis; brother of Shelby Brown, Brenda (Harry) Brown, Neil (Donna) Wood. George is preceded in death by his parents, Gracie Louise Ward Wood and George Tyler Wood, Sr., brother, Keith Wood and brother-in-law, Bob Brown.

George was an avid hunter and fisherman. He holds the state record for Northern Pike in Virginia. He enjoyed the outdoors and watching NASCAR.

Relatives and friends are invited to Georges' Graveside Service at Laurel Hill Memorial Park, 10127 Plank Rd., Spotsylvania, VA on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 11 AM. A Celebration of his life will follow at Hope Presbyterian Church, 11121 Leavells Rd., Spotsylvania, VA following the graveside service at 12:30 PM.
