Gerald Dee Summerskill, 73, of Fredericksburg VA passed away Monday June 12, 2006 at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville VA.
Mr. Summerskill was a retired chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He joined the NAF after retirement as a GS-12 and went on to serve as a contracting officer in Europe with the U.S. Army as a GS-16. He served in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He was the treasurer of his homeowners association and a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Fredericksburg.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Summerskill; his son, Perry N. Summerskill of Mesquite, TX; his four daughters, Lana Marie Goodin of IL, Theresa Ann Wiewel of OK, Mary D. Summerskill of Fredericksburg and Valerie Dee Schneider of MD;his sister, Marietta Winstead of Kansas City, KS; also 10 grandchildren . He was pre-deceased by his son Thomas A. Summerskill
A mass of resurrection will be celebrated at 1:00PM Friday June 16, 2006 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Fredericksburg. Father Perez will officiate. Entombment will be at Laurel Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday June 15, 2006 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania. A rosary will be said at 7:30 pm.
