Gladys Lancaster Settle, 95, passed away Tuesday July, 6, 2004, (born September 29, 1908) at the Orange County Nursing Home, Orange, Va.
Mrs. Settle was a member of Belmont Church. She loved the Lord and through the years she served Him as a Sunday school teacher, Womens Mission Leader and the Girls G.A.'s She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Byron P. Settle, Jr. and Jane, her granddaughters; Tammy Dickerson and Jeannie Settle; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Maude Morris of Alexanderia and her brother V.T. Lancaster of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Byron P. Settle, Sr. her sisters Eleanor Wright, Mabel Henderson, Stella M. Kay and Rene Walker, and by her brother Wallace Lancaster; as well as her parents Josephine E. and Vernon T. Lancaster
Graveside services will be conducted 2pm Friday July 9, 2004 at Laurel Hill Cemetery by Reverends John McKay and Matt Gilliam. The family will receive friends from 12:30 till 2 at the Laurel Hill Funeral Home.
