Obituary

Gordon Rowe, PhD, died peacefully in his home on Friday, May 17, 2019 at age 86.

His love for the game of golf kept him out on the links until his final year of life.  He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, and a musician whose talents were passed down to his kids and grandchildren.  He made fantastic Shirley Temples though he preferred bourbon himself, and his jokes were funny no matter how many times you heard them.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Shriner belonging to the Masonic Lodge of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, member of the Lions Club and MGA of Lake of the Woods, and founding member of the Divot Diggers social group, he was always an active member of his community.

Of all his many passions in life, more than anything, he loved his family.

Gordon was born on July 5, 1932 in Homestead, PA, and was preceded in death by his father, Charles; his mother, Christina; his sisters, Christina and Nelly (and brother-in-law, Jook); and his brother, Charles (and sister-in-law, Millie).

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley (Nee Bevan); son, Doug and daughter-in-law, Maureen; daughter, Kim and son-in-law, Rick; and grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Allison, Melissa, Scott, and Evan.  Details of a memorial service will be decided at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to LOWLINC, at lowlinc.org
