Obituary
Harold Sylvester Lanehart went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was the beloved son of Russell Booth and Rose Caroline Lanehart.
Born on November 26, 1929 in Hancock, MD, Mr. Lanehart worked for Fairchild Aircraft after graduating from high school. In 1952, he was drafted into the US Army and served in Korea with the 25th Division, 14th Regiment. Mr. Lanehart started his government career at the FBI and retired from the US Postal Service.
He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Jewel Lanehart and beloved father of Judy Whipple. He is also survived by two grandsons, Jameson and Matthew; three sisters, Geneva McGraw of Sykesville, MD, Doris Whitman of Purcellville, VA and Linda Brant of Locust Grove, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leroy Lanehart.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 21 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home in Spotsylvania. The funeral will begin at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 21 in the chapel at Laurel Hill. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
