Helen Clare (Tobin) Gaul, 77, of Locust Grove, VA passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Helen was born on August 12, 1937 to Matthew John and Elizabeth (Reagan) Tobin, in Brooklyn, NY. Upon graduation from high school, she met and married Francis Peter Gaul on June 1, 1957, and continued her education receiving a B.S. degree, while raising 5 children. Helen worked for and retired from the Department of the Navy, as a budget analyst. They moved to the Lake of the Woods, from Alexandria, VA in 1991.
Helen was a faithful member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fredericksburg and a great supporter of the St. Patrick School. She enjoyed being a member of several organizations at the Lake of the Woods, such as the Red Hatters, L.O.W. Cares and others. Survivors include; her son; Francis Peter "Pete" Gaul, Jr. (Donna); 4 daughters;
Jean Marie Gaul, Elizabeth Ann "Betty Ann" O'Brien (Tom), Susann Deren, Bernadette Gaul; 2 sisters; Betty E. Shearman and Regina Touhey, and 7 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday April 14, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm, with Prayer Service at 8:30 pm, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home and Funeral Mass held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10 am, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fredericksburg. Entombment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the St. Patrick School Fund.
