Henry Morton Twisdale was born on June 24, 1938 in Lorne, Virginia. He was the fourth child born to the late Purcell and Bertha (Woolfolk) Twisdale.
Henry was raised in Caroline County, Virginia, where he received his early education from Union High School in Bowling Green, Virginia.
At an ealy age, he joined St. Luke's Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia. Henry enlisted in the U.S. Army in late 1950's and served stateside for two years at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
After his military service, he relocated to Maryland and furthered his education at Armstrong Adult Education Center in Washington, D.C. and Prince Georges Community College in Maryland. He later owned a limousine and charter bus service. In Maryland, he joined the Hillcrest Baptist Church. After retiring, Henry relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia in 2008. He found extreme pleasure in watching the wild birds, squirrels and ducks that frequently visited his yard to feast at his several bird feeders. One of Henry's favorite pastimes was watching baseball, football and auto racing. He enjoyed golfing as well. Over the years, he purchased several sports cars and loved to drive them. One of his favorite teams was the Washington Red Skins. Henry departed this life on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center, Richmond, Virginia.
He leaves to celebrate his life: three brothers, Earl, Ellis and Purcell, Jr.; two sisters; Alease and Betty Johnson, three sisters-in-law; Denise, Janice and Evelyn; one brother-in-law; James Johnson; two aunts, Fannie Woolfolk and Helen Samuels and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
