Horace L. Weeder
Horace Leonard Weeder, 91, of Locust Grove died Friday, Nov. 19, at Cedars Nursing Home in Charlottesville.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on July 15, 1919, to Alfred Keely Weeder and Lottie Cohen Weeder.
Mr. Weeder was an engineer at C&P from 1940 to 1959, and at Western Electric and AT&T.
Mr. Weeder was a veteran of World War II as a U.S. Navy fire controlman.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey McCort Weeder of Winterhaven, Charlottesville; one son, Carlen G. Weeder of Lebanon, N.J.; one daughter, Linda A. Weeder Calderone of Nellysford; and one brother, Gilbert L. Weeder of Dumfries.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. at Laurel Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Amos Healey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
