Hugh A. Maples, 84 of Stafford, VA , beloved husband of Nancy Maples for over 66
years, passed away on Friday, January 11th, 2019.
Hugh was born to Carson and Ida Maples in Knoxville, TN where he spent his formative
years. Hugh and Nancy grew up together living just 3 blocks apart and were always
friends since childhood. They were married in 1952 and moved to Washington, DC
where Hugh worked at the F.B.I. Printing Department thru 1965. He then opened his
own business, Woodbridge Printing Company, which is still doing business today.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Nancy. His children, Darrell Maples (Pam) of Manteo, NC,
Scot Maples (Sandy) and Dale Maples, both of Stafford, VA. His grandchildren, Darrell
Maples, Jr. (Kristen), Lance Maples (Kristen), Zachary Maples (Anna) and Brittney
Maples. His Great-grandchildren, Trish Maples, Layla Zak, Ryder Maples, Reese
Maples and Kaylee Maples. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Norma Cope of
Knoxville, TN and Linda Corbitt and her husband Calvin of Nashville, TN. Nieces,
Jennifer Saulmon (Lane) of Lebanon, OR and Joely Moctezuma (Rich) and Nephew,
Jimmie Warwick (Caren) both of Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his
parents and his brother-in-law, Ned Warwick.
There will be a service at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Rd. Spotsylvania, VA.
on Thursday, January 17th. (Visitation/Friends at 11 a.m., service at noon.)
The family would like to thank all of the good people of Hughes Home in
Fredericksburg, VA for keeping Hugh safe, happy and comfortable.
He always kept his sense of humor and for that he will always be remembered.
