IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Joseph
Mcwilliams
May 20, 1945 – October 26, 2025
James J. McWilliams, affectionately known as "Jimmy," peacefully left this earth on October 25, 2025, to be reunited in heaven with the love of his life, his beloved wife Helen.
Born on May 20, 1945, in Philadelphia to Anna E. and Robert E. McWilliams, Jimmy grew up surrounded by family, faith, and community. He attended St. Edmonds Grade School and Bishop Neumann High School, where he built lifelong friendships and a strong sense of purpose that would guide him throughout his life.
After graduation, Jimmy answered the call of duty and proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed at Ft. Belvoir. His service was not only an expression of patriotism but a reflection of his selflessness and devotion to others—values he carried beyond his military years.
It was in Virginia that Jimmy met Helen (nee Bowers), the woman who forever captured his heart. Together, they shared a lifetime of laughter, love, and quiet devotion. Though Helen preceded him in death, their bond remained unbroken—rooted in faith and the certainty they would one day be together again.
Jimmy will be deeply missed by his brother, Jean McWilliams (Roseann), and by all who were blessed to know him. His gentle heart, steadfast loyalty, and love for both his family and country will live on in the hearts of those who cherish his memory.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." – Matthew 5:4
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jimmy's life on Thursday, October 30th at 12 pm at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
