Obituary

Jeffrey A dam Wade, a devoted husband and entrepreneur, died of Thymus Gland cancer on October 28 , 202 1, at the age of 5 6 at his home in Fredericksburg, V irginia . Jeff is predeceased in death by his committed husband, exceptional friend and supportive business partner , Albert Lazar . Born in Newport News, Virginia on October 22, 1965, Jeff was the loving son to the late Gene F. Wade and Brenda C. Wade.

Throughout his career , Jeff surrounded himself with the best and brightest in business, believing that part of his role was to support those he knew could grow into exceptional professionals with support and guidance. Jeff created a trailblazing team to co-found Anchor TotalHR , an HR consultancy , with his late husband in 2009. In 2019, Jeff formed 1 922 MedStaff , in recognition of the year the first child was saved by Insulin, a revolutionary drug at the time to control diabetes), and today 1922 MedStaff employs hundreds of health care t alent across the country, all de dicated to providing outstan ding patient care.

Among his many contributions and awards, the ones he held most dear were the memories and bonds with friends and colleagues he created along the way.  From associates and managers to fellow hoteliers and business leaders, all of these relationships were dear to his heart .

One of Jeff's best career opportunities and most prized positions was when he held a S enior C onsulting role, assisting a number of the worlds most recognized companies in the area s of D iversity and I nclusion (D&I) . Jeff believed that creating a D&I culture was more than the right thing to do , and that diversity went beyond race , gender , or sexual orientation ; it was a business imperative. He brought that same passion at A nchor Total HR , seeking to help shape small and mid-size companies into the best versions of themselves by showing them how H uman R esources added to the bottom line.

Creating opportunities in hospitality and healthcare industries , and supporting those new to them, brought him joy as well. He was blessed early in his career with support and opportunities from others, Jeff pushed himself to give back in the same way.

Both Jeff and Bert loved the water and when not working could often been found on a cruise ship exploring new areas and watching the magnificence of the open ocean . He loved telling stories about his travels and used his sense humor to make people laugh or get through difficult situations, as well is his creativity in all avenues of his life .

Due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19, a celebration of Jeff's life will be private. In lieu of flowers, Jeff requested that contributions in his memory be made to Cause 4 Paws, P.O. Box 301, Locust Grove, VA.
