Joan L. Blevins, age 84 of Locust Grove, died Sunday, November 25, 2007. Born in Philadelphia, PA she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Julia Spanelli Presto. Mrs. Blevins was extremely proud of her Italian heritage. For many years, she enjoyed a very fulfilling career as a nurse in Alexandria, Virginia. Mrs. Blevins is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edward G. Blevins, Sr., children, Edward G. Blevins, Jr.; Rodger Blevins; Nancy Blevins Woolls; Bruce A. Blevins, Sr.; and Michele C. Blevins Dudley; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 30 from 6 - 8pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Rd, Spotsylvania, VA 22553. The funeral service will be conducted at 11am Saturday, December 1, in the chapel of Laurel Hill Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
