Joan Lee Brown,  (age 70), of Lignum, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Mary Washington Hospital. She is the beloved wife of Robert T. Brown; loving mother to Sheila M. Williams, Edward Allen Jenkins, Lorraine Bowman, and her husband John Bowman, Robert Brown Jr., and Renee Brown; sister of, Philip Michael Lucas, his wife Carol Lucas, Linda Montgomery, her husband Gene Montgomery, Jean Marshall, her husband Carl Marshall, and Fran Wilson. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, her dog Harley, and her cat Gee. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Elmer Lucas Jr. and Gladys Mae Umhau.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joan's visitation at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Rd., Spotsylvania, VA on Thursday, April 8th, 2021 from 1 PM until time of graveside service at 2 PM. Interment will follow in the Laurel Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
