Joan Elizabeth Duy was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She left us on May 21, 2022 at the age of 82. She was born to John and Vera Coyle in Binghamton, N.Y. on January 30, 1940. She graduated from Binghamton High School and went on to attend school at the Washington School for Secretaries. After graduation, she married Nicholas Duy and started her family where she was a loving and devoted mother of 4 boys and also enjoyed a successful career at the Food and Drug Administration.

Joan loved spending time in the kitchen baking treats for her family and the neighborhood kids. She would take joy in watching her children and grandchildren play sports throughout their childhood. She also enjoyed traveling and gardening.

She is survived by her husband Nicholas Duy, four sons John (Julie) , Nicholas (Jennifer), Michael (Katrina), and Brian (Mary Ellen), and eight grandchildren Camden, Emily, Megan, Tristan, Isabel, Evan, Brandon, and Ethan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 10AM-12PM at Laurel Hill Funeral Home. A chapel service will follow at 12PM. Entombment will be at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.

There will be a celebration of Joan's life at the Lake Of The Woods Clubhouse located at 102 Lake of the Woods Way, Locust Grove, VA 22508 from 1 - 3pm.
