Joan Krieger Marchese (Gami) of Fredericksburg/Locust Grove, Virginia passed away peacefully at UVA/Culpeper Center for Health early Tuesday morning, the 28th of June, 2022. Preceded in death by her husband Rocco J. Marchese, her twin sister Jean Kendall and her son Rocco Marchese Jr.  Survived by her daughters, Cynthia M. Orsborne (Clay) and Jean Elliott (Chuck) and grandchildren; Christopher Kasper (Erica), Rocco Marchese (Stasha), Aubrey Elliott (Kaitlin), Emily Elliott and seven great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Joan was an avid reader, obtained her Associates Degree in her 6o's from Germanna Community College and was a valued veteran supervisor at the Rappahannock Regional Juvenile Center.

We welcome all who knew her to join us in celebrating her life and mourning her passing. We will be having a service on Friday, July 1 at 10:00 am at Laurel Hill Funeral Home (10127 Plank Road, Spotsylvania, Virginia 22553).

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Michael J. Fox foundation, GreenPeace, or Planned Parenthood.
