JOHN NELSON CARBEE
John Nelson Carbee, 59, a resident of Spotsylvania, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2004 at his residence.
Mr. Carbee was born on January 13, 1945 in West Stewardstown, New Hampshire, and was predeceased by his parents, Glendon Nelson Carbee and Althea Ione Eastman Carbee. John worked in the steel industry for over 40 years, starting at the bottom as a grinder and working his way up to Vice President. He loved his work and the men that worked with him, developing life-long friendships.
John was the world's biggest Red Sox fan, and was, beyond description, infused with joy at seeing the "curse" finally lifted in h is lifetime, when Boston won the World Series. He also enjoyed fishing and was a big NASCAR fan.
John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara (Bobbie); his daughter Rebecca Lynn and granddaughter Courtney at home; daughter Cynthia Jean Zavala and husband Mario and grandchildren Nicholas, Meghan, Christian and Jordan of Newbury Park, California; son Douglas Paul and grandchildren Joshua, Peyton and Kayla Diane; daughter Christina Lee Talley and husband Tony and grandchildren Marcus, Nathaniel, Kayla Renee, Devon and Darrian; daughter Jennifer Louanne in the US Army stationed in Norfolk; son Joseph Harrison, a junior at Faith Baptist School, at home. John is also survived by his beloved brother and best friend, Steven Charles Carbee and Steven's precious wife Patricia of Douglas, Massachusetts.
The family would like to thank the following churches for their support and prayers during John's illness: The Open Door Baptist Church, Faith Baptist Church and United Pentecostal Church, with a special thanks to Temple Baptist Church for their love and support.
A visitation will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 28th from 6 to 8 pm, and a funeral service will be held at Laurel Hill Funeral Home Chapel at 2 pm on December 29th.
