John S. Groupe age 84 of Locust Grove, Va., passed away on May 13, 2004. Mr. Groupe was a graduate of Penn. State University in 1941 where he was on the wrestling team. He also retired from the Department of Defense after 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife Eileen Groupe; one daughter Nancy Schrumm; one son John S. Groupe. 5 grandchildren also survive him: Amy, Tucker, Jeffrey, Johnny, Julie and 2 great-grandchildren Olivia and Justice. Mr. Groupe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be missed by everyone. Services will be Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at 11:00 am at Laurel Hill Funeral Home's Chapel with internment at Quantico National Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial be made to the Lake Of The Woods Fire and Rescue or the Mid Atlantic Community Church in care of Eileen Groupe 511 Birdie Rd. Locust Grove, Va., 22508.
