John Joseph Halat, age 86 of Locust Grove, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Culpeper Health and Rehab Center.
Born in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Stanley and Barbara Karpinski Halat.
Mr. Halat was an accountant and had served as Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who loved fishing and photography.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred Halat; son, Ronald Halat; daughter and son in law, Joan and Lenn Gilbert; grandson, Ronald Bowers and his wife Patricia; great grandchildren, Alexa and Marisa; sister, Helen Syracuse; nieces, Barbara and Rosellen; nephews, Carl Syracuse, and Timothy and Eddie Bogdanovich.
