Joseph Peter Broderick, 75, of Locust Grove, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at the University Medical Center in Charlottesville.
He was born in Bronx, NY to the late James Aloysius Broderick and Mary Elizabeth Elliott Broderick.
Mr. Broderick was an Army Veteran. He owned the Lake of the Woods Home Center, was a life member of the Lake of the Woods Rescue Squad and he loved to give hugs.
He is survived by his daughter, Joy Payne; his son J. Broderick; his sister and her husband, Katherine B. Wallace and James; his brother and his wife James A. Broderick Jr. and Dorothy; his two grandchildren and 15 nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Saturday April 8, 2006 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Funeral services and burial will be private.
