Katherine S. Adams, 93 of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Cleveland, OH she was a daughter of the late John G. and Mae King Swadey.
Mrs. Adams was a lifelong Catholic and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was a dedicated English teacher, and a very beloved mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Adams; two sisters, Mary Alice Armishaw and Dorothy Hunt; and two brothers, John Swadey and Robert Swadey.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Adams Holder and Celeste Adams; one son, Robert J. Adams; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 10:30am Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Ronald Gripshover serving as the celebrant. Interment will be at a later date in Quantico National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00pm at the funeral home, with the rosary being said at 3:30.
