Kenneth Hargreaves, 81, of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, Va. passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2013 at Falls Run Nursing Home. Kenneth was born on Nov. 5, 1932 to Oliver and Norah Whitaker Hargreaves in England. He was educated in England, and served in the Royal Air Force. Kenneth married Hilda Emily Ward on Sept. 19, 1959 in Yardley, England. They moved to New Jersey, in 1960, where he worked as a Diesel Engineer, until retiring in 1997. Kenneth became a US Citizen in 1976. While in New Jersey, Kenneth was an active member of Lions International of Dumont, NJ and served as President. They moved to Lake of the Woods at Locust Grove, Va in 2000 where he was an active member of the Lake of the Woods Church and Lions Club.
Survivors include, his wife, Hilda, 2 Daughters; Susan Van Deusen (Stephen), Lisa Casias (Donald); 1 brother; Michael Hargreaves (Val), 1 Sister; Anne Roge (Winfried) and 4 grandchildren; Stephanie and Kevin Van Deusen, Michael and Matthew Casias.
Visitation will be Tuesday Jan. 21, 2014 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, with funeral services held on Wednesday Jan. 22, 2014 at 10 am. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association www.lbda.org/node/581
