Kyriacos Adamou, 91, of Locust Grove, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on October 16, 2022. He was born on April 9, 1931 in Acheritou, Cyprus to the late Adamos and Elizabeth Theodoulou.

Kyriacos spent his youth in Cyrpus where he learned Byzantine music reading and chanting. In 1951, he was sponsored by his uncle, Peter Paraskeva, to come to America. Kyriacos took night classes to learn electrical wiring to install light fixtures.  He was a man of many talents including carpentry, Byzantine chanting, and gardening. He worked as a blue collar worker all his life. His jobs included butcher, manufacturer, and crane operator.

Kyriacos leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 63 years, Yiannoulla Adamou of Locust Grove; his beloved children, Elizabeth Disbrow of Culpeper, Anthony Adamou and his wife Nancy of Hillsboro, OR, Marian A. Violaris and her husband Christos of Richmond, and Adam Adamou and his wife Rachel of Pace, FL; and his grandchildren David Disbrow, Adam Martin Disbrow, Julia Starks, Steven Adamou, Briana Adamou, Chrysanthi Violaris, Yanna-Sophia Violaris, Sarah Dare, Rebecca Adamou, Leah Adamou, Emma Adamou, and Mykah Adamou.

The family will receive friends for visitation and Trisagion at Nativity of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, 12326 Spotswood Furnace Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407, on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Memorial Park, 10127 Plank Road Spotsylvania, VA 22553.

Flowers can be delivered to the Nativity of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church on the day of the funeral service.
