Lawrence James Miller, 73, of Mine Run, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2005 at his home.
Mr. Miller was a US Navy Korean War Veteran, retired from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and a member of the American Legion.
He is the son of the late Robert and Katherine Miller and is survived by his wife of 39 years, Murlene Miller, father of Daryl Miller and Donna McCane both of Lynchburg, stepfather of Esther Schaeffer of Sterling and Mary Burrage of Falmouth, grandfather of James Ricketts, Robin Pond, T.J. Hinegardner, Philip Schaeffer, Collin McCane and Carrie McCane, great-grandfather of Jimmy, Kari, Amber, Austin, David, Kylie, Aiden and Katelyn, brother of Robert Miller of Piney Point, MD.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 22, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday August 23, 2005 at the funeral home. Rev. Vaughn Burroughs will officiate. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Park. The pallbearers will be Collin McCane, James Ricketts, Jimmy Ricketts, Joe Pond, Philip Schaeffer, and T.J. Hinegardner. The flower bearers will be Amber Ricketts, Carrie McCane, Kari Pond and Kylie Pond.
