Lawrence Nathan Smith, patriarch, protector, provider, proselyter, age 73, passed away surrounded by members of his family, at his home in Spotsylvania, Sunday evening, November 11, 2007. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Barbara Ellen Smith; his two sisters, Maureen Jane Wilkenson of Kent, Washington and Nancy Jo Smith of Federal Way, Washington; his eleven children & their respective spouses: Douglas Nathan Smith & Kathy of Des Moines, Washington; Debra Louise Smith of Conway, South Carolina; Lucy May Brown & Brad of Spotsylvania; Joseph Hyrum Smith & Pat of Arlington, Texas, Samuel Harold Smith & Helen of Partlow; Sandra Jo John & Tom of Spotsylvania; Janet Ellen Roberts & William of Sparta; Jon Parley Smith & Pam of Spotsylvania; James Orson Smith & Lisa of Spotsylvania; Lorenzo Snow Smith & Sheila of Enumclaw, Washington; and Ruby Rae Stoker & Bruce of Mesa, Washington. He is the grandfather of forty-four grandchildren, and the great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren - "Not a runt in the bunch." Funeral to be held Friday, November 16, 2007 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 1710 Bragg Road in Fredericksburg.
