Leon Collins Lewis Sr., 82, of Spotsylvania County died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Mary Washington Hospital.
He was born in Pennsylvania on Oct. 28, 1928, to Robert and Louisianna Collins Lewis.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Lewis of Spotsylvania; two sons, Frederick Lewis of Tampa Bay, Fla., and Leon Lewis Jr. and his wife, Vanessa, of Spotsylvania; three daughters, Sandra Wright, Mildred Lewis and Camille Johnson and her husband, Rufus, all of Richmond; two half brothers, Joseph Lewis of Washington, D.C., and Cephas Lewis of Maryland; four half sisters, Rosemary Shand of Dinwiddie, Constance Fry of Atlanta, Betty Jean Lewis of Washington and Velma Cunningham; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nephew Rodger Lewis of Alexandria.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at Arm of the Lord Ministries, 2100 Airport Ave., Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania.
