Leonard "Lenny" Michael Supchak passed away on May 31, 2024 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. He was born on May 23, 1936 to Edward and Alice (Michalski) Supchak in Nanticoke, PA. Lenny is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Henrietta Supchak, Edwin Supchak, Cecilia Krakowsky, and Bernadine Jones.
Lenny leaves behind his loving wife Eleanor (Borowski) Supchak, his children Leonard P. Supchak, Sharon (Supchak) Sollom, son-in-law Mark Sollom and Richard Supchak; his grandsons Christopher Sollom and Michael Sollom and granddaughter-in-law Sydney (Cook) Sollom; and his great granddaughter Eva Hope Sollom.
Lenny met his wife "Elly" at Holy Trinity Church in Nanticoke, PA where he was an altar boy and she sang in the choir; they were later married on July 13, 1957. Soon after they moved to the DC Metro area, where they raised their family and finally settled in Fredericksburg, VA. Lenny worked in finance his entire career and retired as the CEO for the Pan American World Health Organization Federal Credit Union. Lenny enjoyed spending time with his family who he loved so much and was blessed to have so many life-long friends. Lenny had a love for music, especially polka music and loved playing the accordion for everyone to enjoy. In his early days, he was the drummer in the Country Tune Twisters. His retirement years were spent travelling with Elly along with many friends and family taking several cruises and travelling within and outside the United States, fulfilling a life-long dream of visiting Poland. He loved to work in the yard and being out on the farm with Rick and all the animals. Lenny was honored to be a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus in Fredericksburg, VA volunteering when he could and always enjoyed being an usher at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Road Spotsylvania, VA 22553 on Wednesday, June 5 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 9149 Elys Ford Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407 on Thursday, June 6 at 11:00am. Immediately following, the Entombment will be at Laurel Hill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either, St Jude's Children's Research Hospital or St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
