Lewis Luck Cornell, Jr., 88 of Spotsylvania, formerly of Arlington, Fairfax and Earlysville, VA passed away peacefully on Friday October 29, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born October 8, 1933 in Arlington, VA to the late Lewis Luck and Susie Rene Cornell. He grew up in Arlington, VA, and attended Washington & Lee High School. Mr. Cornell worked in the printing industry and advanced to the level of Vice President before retiring. He loved sports, playing softball or baseball from 1945 to 1989, coaching and mentoring many young players, and is a Founders Club member of the Fredericksburg Nationals.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou Cornell of Spotsylvania and one daughter, Leigh Ann Bennett. He is survived by one son, Lewis Wayne Cornell and his wife Ronda of Fredericksburg, two daughters, Linda Deane and husband Scotty of Fredericksburg, Cathy Kern and husband David of Lake Anna, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home located at 10127 Plank Road in Spotsylvania, VA 22553 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm with burial to follow at Laurel Hill.
