Obituary

Lieselotte Julie Bauer Fries was 78 years old, she was known and loved by everyone as "Oma." She was born in Germany on February 11, 1944 and moved to the United States in 1960 where she worked as a nanny. A year later she married the love of her life Earl. She passed peacefully at Falls Run Nursing home located in Fredericksburg, VA on April 21, 2022. Oma worked at Little Flower Manor in Darby, PA for 27 years as the Activities Director. She loved working with the residents and entertaining them. For the last eighteen years she lived with her eldest daughter in Virginia. Oma was a spunky, charismatic woman who inspired laughter and love. She was a beautiful role model to her children and grandchildren and tackled life selflessly, with a smile for everyone. As a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother she loved spending time with her family by feeding them, playing rummy 500 and telling stories.

She is preceded by her late husband Earl William Fries Jr, her grandson Stephen Fries, and her son in laws Nicola Angilletta and Timothy J. Ritter. Oma is survived by her children, Stephen P. Fries, Susan U. Ritter, Lisa M. (Mark S. Cerino), Michael C. Fries and Kristen E. (Joseph G. Cordano), her eleven grand-children, four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews both in Germany and the United States.

A celebration of life mass will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11am at St. Georges Church located at 22 E. Cooke Ave, Glenolden PA 19036. If you would like to help commemorate Lieselotte's life, in lieu of flowers the family asks that you create a donation to the Alzheimer's foundation, in her name.
