Louis Bascetta, 93, of Fredericksburg passed away Saturday May 4, 2013 at Hughes Home in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Louis was born on August 2, 1919 in Melilli, Italy, and met and married Lucy Helen Bartolotta on June 15, 1950, while she was visiting family in Italy. After arriving in the U.S., he became a naturalized citizen, and he and his family made their home in Middletown and Clinton, Connecticut before moving to Virginia in 1996. He received his Bachelors Degree in French from Wesleyan University, then attained a Masters Degree in Latin from the University of Connecticut. He was a dedicated teacher of foreign languages at the Morgan School, an author, a poet, and an avid gardener. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lucy; 1 daughter, Cynthia Zimmerman and her husband, Michael; 1 grandson, Aaron Watts and 1 granddaughter, Lina Zimmerman.
