Obituary

Louise Midlin, 79, of Locust Grove Virginia passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2026. Louise was born August 2, 1946 in Nyack, New York, to Philip and Mary Bosco.

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard Midlin, and their children: Joseph Thomas of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Ruby Dowling and husband Kevin of Cypress, Texas, Bonnie Bogert and husband Chris of Conroe,Texas, and Christopher Midlin and wife Melanie of Henrico, Virginia, as well as her six grandchildren, Alexandra and Lucy Midlin, Naomi and Adam Dowling, and Jackson and Joseph Bogert, and her sister, Helen Lee Coleman and husband John, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

Louise lived in New York before moving to Virginia in 1985. Louise worked as an elder care companion for many years. As the owner of Glory Books & Gifts from 1991-2000, she greatly enjoyed interacting with her customers and serving parishes in the Northern Virginia area. Louise also worked as a teacher at Kinder Care for over 10 years. Her entire career was spent caring for and looking out for others.

Louise enjoyed spending time with her family. She treasured news from her siblings, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Her greatest love and source of pride were her grandchildren, who were always in her thoughts.

Louise was proud of her Italian and Slovak heritage. She often shared her love of tradition, history, food, music, classic movies and nature with others. She was dedicated to her dogs and birds. She enjoyed the native plants and birds of her Virginia home and was an avid bird watcher. Louise had other eclectic interests such as painting, was knowledgeable on many topics and could converse on just about any subject.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9149 Eleys Ford Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407 on July 8, 2026 at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, www.michaeljfox.org.
