Luther Alden Dutton, 84, of Fredericksburg, passed away Saturday Nov. 16, 2013 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Alden was born on June 11, 1929 to Charles Grover and Nannie Wade (Southern) Dutton at Groseclose, VA. He served as an altar boy in his youth and was an avid painter, painting on canvas and murals. Alden worked as a carpenter for several companies and was self employed. He married Eva Nordenbaek. and they made their home in Arlington, Va, before moving to rural Fredericksburg in 1976.
Survivors include: His Wife Eva; 2 sons Samuel Alden and Gary Wayne Dutton, 1 Dau. Wanda Drew (Frank); 1 sister, Evelyn Frances Dutton, sister-in-law Ruth Nordenbaek;
his former wife, Dorothy Comeau; 4 grandchildren; Aaron Dutton (Karen), Rachel Murdock (Matt), Sheryl Dutton, Laura Hanschkow (Tobias) ; nieces Karen Brittingham, Donna Kirby, Cindy Kitson and nephews Raymond Kirby and Jerry Dickerson.
Visitation will be held on Friday Nov. 22, 2013 from 12 to 1 pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Chapel 10127 Plank Rd. Spotsylvania, Va. 22553 with funeral services at 1 pm with Rev. Amos Healy officiating.
