Luther J. (Luke) Smith, Sr. 95, passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Thursday October 4, 2012. Luke was born Sept. 10, 1917 in Perry County, PA. He married Dorothy Ruth Metz on Apr. 17, 1943. He retired after 30 years as a CPA/Accountant. They lived in the Lake Anna area for over 25 years. Survivors Include, His wife, Dorothy, 3 sons; Luther J. (Jack) Smith, Jr. & his wife Gay, Spotsylvania; Daniel A. Smith & wife Marie, Spotsylvania; and Michael E Smith, Mineral; 1 Daughter Joyce A. Randall, Stone Mountain, GA; 8 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday October 8, 2012 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, with entombment to follow. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. Monday, prior to the funeral service. Donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to the SPCA of Fredericksburg, VA. 22408.
