Maggie Murlene Miller, 91, of Spotsylvania, passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Fri. March 7, 2014, with her family at her bedside. Murlene was born on Nov. 23, 1922 in Bankston, Fayette County, Alabama to Grover C. and Lou Vena (Brasher) Lowery.
She married Lawrence J. Miller in Oct. 1965, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include: 2 daughters from a previous marriage to Rev. Benjamin F. Perkins: Esther R. Schaeffer and Mary E. Burrage (David L);
2 step-daughters: Daryl Miller and Donna Ragland; 6 Grandchildren; James Ricketts, Robin Pond, T.J. Hinegardner, Philip Schaeffer, Corporal Collin McCane, USMC and Carrie McCane; 10 Great Grandchildren; Jimmy, Kari, Amber, Austin, David, Kylie, Aiden, Katelyn, Shelby and James; 4 Great great Grandchildren; Dayton, Gabriel, Kayden and Mariam. Murlene was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Family will meet friends and family on Tues. March 11, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Laurel Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 12 noon on Wednesday March 12, 2014 with Chaplain Robert Shultz officiating, at the funeral, with interment to follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania. Casket bearers will be James Ricketts, T.J. Hinegardner, Philip Schaeffer, Jimmy Ricketts, Neal Thompson, Austin Ricketts and David Hinegardner.
