Obituary

Margaret Flinchum "Marie" Row, 93, Yorkville, Tennessee, died on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at her residence in  Yorkville, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of service, adventure and heartfelt connections.

Born Monday, September 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Willis Madison Flinchum and the late Elmira Farley Flinchum.

Margaret proudly served her country as a Special Agent at the Pentagon for over twenty-five years. Her sharp mind, dedication, and integrity were hallmarks of her long and distinguished career in national security. In 2012, she moved to Tennessee to be closer to her beloved family, embarking on a new chapter filled with laughter, exploration, and deep connection.

Known for her magnetic personality, Margaret never met a stranger. Whether she was striking up a conversation with someone new or reminiscing with old friends, she had an extraordinary gift for making others feel seen, heard, and valued.

A lifelong adventurer, Margaret approached life with boundless curiosity and courage. At 86, she was diving into swimming pools with joy, and at 90, she was zipping through the skies of Alaska—always on the lookout for her next thrill. She cherished traveling, especially when it meant creating memories with her family.

Though not initially an animal lover, Margaret's heart was won over by Sable, her niece Susan's dog. Their bond was instant and enduring, a testament to her open heart and ability to grow and change throughout her life.

She also had a deep appreciation for music and especially loved listening to Andrea Bocelli, whose voice often provided the soundtrack to her quiet moments of reflection.

Graveside services for Mrs. Row will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Laurel Hill Memorial Park in Spotsylvania, Virginia.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Marie Row Wyland of Virginia and Debbie Taylor of Bristol, Tennessee; one sister, Maryanna Layher of Herndon, Virginia; her niece and caregiver, Susan Davis of Yorkville, Tennessee, who was supported by dear friends Tricia, Kathy, June, and Sally; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
