Margaret "Peggy" Elizabeth Cross, 72, of Locust Grove passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, 12 days short of her 73rd birthday, in Fredericksburg. Peggy was born to Helen (Dobson) Markham on October 15, 1944 in Norfolk, Va. She married Joseph "Joe" S. Cross, III on June 26, 1965 in Newport News, VA. They made their home in Northern Virginia for a number of years before retiring to Northern Neck in Lottsburg, Va. in 2001. Peggy and Joe moved to Locust Grove in 2014. Survivors include her husband, Joe; son, Jeffrey S. (Diane); daughter, Karen R. Meadows (Jim); sister Jo-Ann Condrey (Roy); and three grandchildren, Jacob Meadows (Liz), Jamie Murphy (Brent) and Bailey Day. In keeping with Peggy's wishes there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peggy Cross, may be made to Lake of the Woods Fire and Rescue, 104 Lakeview Parkway Locust Grove, VA 22508.
