Margit Tungli-Giese, 70, of Locust Grove passed away at home with her husband and son by her side.  Margit was born on April 28, 1948 In Hungary to Tungli Jeno and Anna (Hegedus).  After moving to the United States, she received a B.A. Degree from Montclair State University in fine art, and a M.A. Degree from Kean University in art education, both in New Jersey.  Margit married Carl Richard Giese on November 26, 1977 in Manville, NJ.

She was employed for almost 20 years as a special education teacher and learning consultant in the New Jersey school system.  Margit and Carl moved to the Lake of the Woods, in Locust Grove, VA, in July 2017, after retiring.  Her fondest pastime was spending time with her family.  Survivors include her husband, Carl; son, Jason Tungli (Julia); sister, Emma Tungli (Ferenc Csurgai) and two grandchildren, Elijah and Gideon.  Memorial Services will be held on May 18 at 11am, at the Laurel Hill Funeral Home, with pastor Mike Lemay.
