Marilyn Anne Jandrowitz (Aukschun) of Locust Grove passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 9th, 2021.
Marilyn was a Jersey Girl through and through. She was born in Bronx, New York, but was raised in Maywood, New Jersey. She was the oldest child of August Aukschun and Nora Breen. She had one younger brother, Richard.
Marilyn attended grammar school in Maywood, and then attended Immaculate Conception high school. Marilyn married Frank at Queen Apostle's Church in Maywood on September 9th, 1961. Their daughter, Denise, was born October 26th, 1962 at Fort Meade, Maryland where Frank was stationed at the time.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her grandchildren Amanda and Shane with all her heart. She was also an animal lover. Marilyn loved her dogs Randy and Shadow both Labradors, and See See her Bichoon Frise. Her horse Donna a Tennessee Walker was her pride and joy.
Music was always a big part of Marilyn's life. She was quite an accomplished accordion musician in her youth, and her love of music stayed with her over the course of her life.
Marilyn was by Frank's side through his long career at API. She met and had many wonderful acquaintances and friends throughout those years.
Marilyn and Frank enjoyed traveling, and were able to visit many wonderful places. One of their favorite places to visit each year was the island of Saint Martin. They would go every year in January and February for at least a month. They absolutely loved their time together there.
Marilyn was survived by her husband Frank, daughter, Denise Haislip, granddaughter and her spouse, Amanda and Dylan Brewer; and grandson Shane Haislip.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, Virginia from 1pm to 3pm. Guests are welcome to attend at any point; a special service celebrating Frank and Marilyn will take place between 1:30 and 2:30pm. Light refreshments will be served.
