Marilyn P. Scarbeck of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away April 24, 2026, at the age of 92. Marilyn is remembered for her faith in Jesus, smile, sense of humor, kindness, love of family, strength, and never-ending desire to take care of others.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Jeremiah Kelleher and Evelyn Albrecht. Marilyn worked for the Public Health Service Hospital (Bailey Seton Hospital) and the US Navy Exchange, Fort Wadsworth, Staten Island, NY, and Virginia Beach, Virginia. Marilyn later relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia, where she lived the remainder of her life. Marilyn loved baseball, painting, and spending time with family.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband Walter Edward Scarbeck, sisters Eileen James, Doloris Hill, brother Donald Kelleher, and nephew Mark James. She is survived by her son John Christoper Scarbeck, wife Susan J. Connolly, three grandchildren Sean, Laura, Katie, one great grandchild Virgina Macdonald, nephews Bob, Ronald, Raymond Hill, Bruce and Brian James, niece Sharon Fick, the Brooks family of Virginia, Roesner family of Vermont, and Boyer family of Connecticut.

Marilyn left a lasting impression on those she met, brought joy into the lives of many, and made a difference in the lives of family and friends. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 5120 Harrison Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408, 2 PM Saturday, May 16, 2026.
