Marue Biggs, of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, VA passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the age of 73 years.  Marue will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years and her children Deidra and Darren (Sara).  Marue will also be fondly remembered by her grandson Cole Stevens, and by her sister, Pam (Ron) Fair.  Marue was predeceased by her mother and father Gertrude and Robert Dugas.

Marue was born in Westville, Illinois and move at a young age to Detroit, where she attended Mackenzie High School, she worked as an Office Manager for a shipping lines before having children and then pursued being a homemaker.  Once the children were in high school, she worked as the Office Manager for HOA in Clifton, VA.  Marue and Jim moved to Lake of the Woods in 2000 and she truly enjoyed the people and community.  Prior to her illness Marue was an active member of the LOW Lioness Club and enjoyed donating her time in support of their charities.  She also served on the Clubhouse Committee at LOW.

Marue had Alzheimer's and spent her remaining weeks at the Poet's Walk Memory Care home in Leesburg, Virginia.  A celebration of Marue's life will be held on Friday October 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Laurel Hill Funeral Home, to allow family and friends, outside of Virginia to attend.  Those who desire may make donations in Memory of Marue to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org .
