Mary Joan Christman, (Age 75), of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Loving wife of 56 years to Lester "Chris" Christman; devoted mother of Tina (Scott) McManama, Tim (Mischelle) Christman, Tami (Paul) Carithers; grandmother of Katie (Kyle), Garrett, Tanya (Donnie), Ashley, (DJ), Keith, Christian, Shae, Jakeb, Bessie (Wes); great-gram-gram of Lainey, Carson, Dale, Raegan, Ivan, Kasie, Madison, Austin, Ethan and Hailee; sister of, Bernard (Ginger) Bittner, Irene Beckman, Sr. Bernita Marie Bittner, Kay  Ann Kolb, Pat Blumer; sister and law of Mae Guthrie and special friend of Joyce McManama. She is also survived by her cherished dog, Maccie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Josephine R. (Gisi) and Emeran Anthony Bittner, brothers, Ken and Eddie and sister Ethel.

Mary worked for National Bank of Fredericksburg as a teller and in Human Resources for Insteel (Rappahannock Wire), Virginia Paving, and Princeton Data Source. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and these are the things Mary loved doing in life; writing a "to do list" everyday, gardening, the beach, trips to Charlestown, TN Mountains which included cabin trips, walking her dog, Maccie and spending time with her family and friends especially at cookouts and pool parties.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation for Mary at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Rd., Spotsylvania, VA on Tuesday, November 16, from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude Catholic Church, 9600 Caritas Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22408, on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in the Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
