Maxine Brown Crane, born Aug. 12, 1921 in LaGrange, Va, in Culpeper County to parents: Herbert Clinton and Nellie Hicks Brown passed away on March 2, 2004. A beautician, she owned and operated the Glamorous Beauty Salon in Culpeper for many years. Survivors include one son, Stuart A. Crane, Jr. (Chipper) and his wife, Pattye of Nokesville, Va and their three sons, Stuart Crane III, Brent and Scott. One daughter, Joyce Aylor Waugh and her husband Norual E. Waugh of Fredericksburg, Va and their family including Steven Aylor, wife Cara and Children J. Parker and Hannah Aylor; Angela Aylor Galyear, and her husband Robert and children Hilton and Joshua; Mark Aylor his wife Pam and daughter Kelsey. She is also survivored by two grandchildren, Dennis Clinton Pennington, his wife Esther, children Stephanie, Madison Sue and Levi of Ft. Hood, Texas(now serving in Iraq) and Jennifer Pennington Meel, her husband, Dallas and babies Emily and Katie of Bedford, Va. Also surviving include two brothers, Stanley E. Brown and family of Williamsburg, Va and Estil H. Brown and his family of Stevensburg, Va. One sister, Katherine Brown Jones and family of Culpeper, Va. Preceded in death brother Roy H. Brown and two sisters Hazel Brown Crane and Florence Crane Hiner. Also surviving is one brother-in-law Newton Crane of Culpeper, Va. Maxine was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church in Lignum, Va. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 3 at Hopewell United Methodist Church. Services will be Thursday March 4, at 11:00 am at Hopewell United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
