Melissa Lynn Jones beloved wife, daughter, mother, TuTu (grandmother), sister, aunt, and friend, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 6th 2025 at the age of 50.
Born on August 26th 1974 in Culpeper, Melissa lived a life full of love, faith, and joy. She was the devoted wife of Kelvin Jones for 26 years of marriage, and together they shared 33 years of life — walking side by side through joys and trials with a love that reflected 1 Corinthians 13: patient, kind, enduring, and unfailing.
Melissa was the proud mother of Akyshia Brown-Kaleopaa and Kabren Jones, raising them with a strong foundation of faith, humility, and unconditional love. She led by example, teaching forgiveness, grace, and compassion through her daily life. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she poured her heart into every role she held — wife, mother, TuTu, sister, aunt, and mother-in-law.
She is survived by her loving husband Kelvin Jones; children Akyshia Brown-Kaleopaa and Kabren Jones; son-in-law Uyurre Brown-Kaleopaa and grandchild Koa; Mother Temple Murray, Father Bernard Moe Jenkins(Susie), siblings brother Justin Murray(Robyn) step brother Matt Miller, Sister Sara Beth Murray(Russel); in-laws Leroy Jones Sr. and Lillie Jones; Brother In-laws Leroy Jones Jr.(Marlene),Michael Jones(Aminah), Nieces and Nephews, Aubrey, Abigail, and Blake Murray, Gunner and Timber Favorite, Elijah and Desmond Jones; Great Niece and Nephew Makayla and Amari Jones and life long best friend/sister Stacy Woolfolk(Spunk) and daughter Sierra Woolfolk along with several extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Helen and Charlie Hitt and James and Mildred Jenkins, Step bother Steven Miller and step father James(Jimmy) Murray.
A celebration of her life will be held on August 17th 2025 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home 10127 Plank Road Spotsylvania, VA 22553 with visitation 3:00-5:00pm immediately followed by the Funeral Service from 5:00-6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children's National Hospital 111 Michigan Ave NW, Washington, DC 20010 in her honor.
