Melva Lee (Tina) Taylor, 82, of Spotsylvania passed away Tuesday July 28, 2015 at her daughter's home, with her loving family at her side. Melva was born on April 9, 1933 to William and Bettie Jacobs in Bahama, NC. She graduated from high school in NC. Melva married Thurston Brown Taylor on May 22, 1953 in NC. She worked for Holly Farms, which became Tyson Foods, as a lab technician, retiring after over 30 years. Melva and Thurston moved to Spotsylvania over 21 years ago. Survivors include her son: Jerry Taylor, daughters; Bettie Smith, Judy Sharp; sister; Maxine Fields; 2 brothers Donald and Ira Lee Mitchell; her dear friend Raymond (Chucky) Minter; 8 grandchildren; Dustin and Jessica Smith, Colby, Brandon, Sydney, and Jacob Taylor, Alisa Robertson, Melissa Wager and 6 great grandchildren; Levi Smith, Rylee Taylor, Sydney and Gavin Robertson, Maxwell and Brady Wager. Melva was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston, brother, Bobby Jacob and sister Rosa Lee Hammock. Visitation will be held on Friday July 31, 2015 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, from 6pm to 8pm, with funeral services held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 3pm with interment to follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
