Obituary
Melvin Kyle Eley, 71, of Spotsylvania County, died at home on Thursday, August 21, 2014.
He was predeceased by his parents, Herald A. and Nona Jones Eley, and his brother, Ray A. Eley.
He is survived by his wife, Sue B. Eley, their daughters, Tracey E. Padgett (Gary), Christa E. Whaling (Ricky), and Page E. Knott (Russ); five grandsons, Matthew M. and Corey S. Padgett, Rick K. Whaling, and Austin R. and Christian K. Knott; his sister, Audrey E. Shackelford (Bud); a sister-in-law, Elsie H. Eley; several nephews and a niece.
Melvin retired from NSWC, Dahlgren, VA, in 1999 with 28 years of service. He was a life member of Elks Lodge #875 and a member of Fredericksburg Lodge, Knights of the Pythias.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014, at 11:00 A.M., at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to Elks Lodge #875, Post Office Box 215, Fredericksburg, VA 22404-0215.
