Michael Scott Hager, 29, of Richmond, VA passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. He is the beloved son of Rev. Alan and Katherine Hager, devoted brother of Kristen Hager and loving uncle of Bentley, Andrew, Avery, and Jacob. In addition to his parents, sister, niece and nephews, Michael is survived by grand parents Elaine Hager , and Jerry and Anna Day , a unt s and uncles, and numerous cousins.

Michael Hager was born in Indiana, PA in 1992. He moved with his family to Fredericksburg, VA in 1994 where his father , Alan , took a call as pastor for Spotsylvani a Presbyterian Church (now Hope Church) . Michael attended Ni River Middle School and graduated from Riverbend High S chool in 2011 having participated in football, track, lacrosse , and wrestling. In 2019 he moved to Richmond, VA.

Michael loved life and all its beauty. He had a gift for capturing that beauty in a photograph or video. He particularly enjoyed creating unique videos and posting them on social media . He like d all types of mu s ic, art, food, and activities (like snowboarding, weightlifting, lacrosse, and skateboarding) . Growing up in the Wilderness area of Spotsylvania Michael appreciated nature and being outdoors with his friends and his dogs.

Family was central to Michael's life. He cherished holidays and family gatherings of any type. He was proud of his family and supported and protected them faithfully. H is smile and ability to make people laugh will l ong be remembered by family and those who knew him well .

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 10127 Plank Road Spotsylvania, VA on Friday, October 15 at 2:00pm. A private interment will follow the service.
