Minerva F. Bosserman, 95 of Fredericksburg and formerly of Farmville, passed away in her sleep at home Thursday April 10, 2009.
Born in Roanoke, she was married to Charles Bosserman who died Jan. 2009. They had been married 61 years. She was always volunteering her time to both the church and in her community.
Mrs. Bosserman was a Navy X-Ray technician during World War II. After her children were in high school she worked for the Commerce Department.
She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and a favorite Aunt. She had a wonderful ability to remember family history and delighted in sharing with her family stories of their ancestors until her last month. She was also predeceased by her beloved daughter, Gay Evans.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Burke and husband Peter of Fredericksburg; five beloved grandchildren, Alison B. Fogarty and Melissa B. Bruster, both of Richmond, David Evans of Keysville, Daniel Evans of Reston, and Chris Evans of Appomattox; three great grandchildren, Owen and Mason Fogarty of Richmond, Raleigh Evans of Keysville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:00pm Monday, April 13, 2009 in the chapel of Laurel Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Hager officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church, or a charity of one's choice.
Mrs. Bosserman and her family are in the care of Laurel Hill Funeral Home, 10127 Plank Road, Spotsylvania.
