It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Drewery Asbell, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the age of 93 in Queenstown, Maryland, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was a woman of unwavering strength and kindness, whose life was a testament to the power of family and love. Born on December 1, 1931, in Portsmouth, Virginia, Nancy was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mabel Drewery. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Marvin Lewis ("Lew") Asbell and her sister, Dorothy ("Dotty") Cecil.

As a child, Nancy grew up in New Haven, CT and Norfolk, VA, and relocated as a young adult to the Washington, DC area where she met her husband, both working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. They raised their girls in Alexandria, VA. She enjoyed years of entertaining friends and family, sewing and crocheting, bowling leagues, traveling, and cheering on her beloved Redskins. As a woman of great faith, she served Bush Hill Presbyterian Church as a choir member and administrative secretary. After retirement, they moved to Lake of the Woods in Locust Grove, VA.

Nancy is survived by her three devoted daughters, Deborah Rae Julian (David) of Centreville, MD, Dana Lee Collsen (Stephen) of Franklin, TN, and Andrea Joy Asbell of Fairfax, VA; her grandchildren, Jessica Conley, Rebecca Julian, Kristina Miller, Rachel Peak, and Scott Collsen; and great grandchildren, Autumn & Ashlyn, Juliann & Evelynn, Savannah & Austin, Brecken & Maevyn, and Adeline.

A private family burial service will be held to honor Nancy's life.
