Obituary

Oscar "Skip" A. Norman Jr, 71, of Spotsylvania passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 At Mary Washington Hospital.
Skip was born on December 6, 1944 in Washington, D.C. to Oscar A and Velma Bernice (Miller) Norman. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Alexandria, VA. Skip married Althea Scott Taylor in 1984. He worked for the Department of Defense, as a Meat Cutter, at Ft. Belvoir, from which he retired after 33 years, in 2001. Skip was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and was fanatic about the Washington Red Skins and Nationals, and also love NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife, Althea; son, Thomas A. Norman; two daughters, Sherri E. Rosenberg (Karl), Serena M. Rumuly; 2 sisters Rachelle Feth (Gary), Helen Blair (Tony); and 7 grandchildren; Kelsey, Corey and Cooper Rosenberg, Tierney, Shep and Tristen Norman; Taylor Rumuly. Skip was preceded in death by a son; Steven B. Norman and Grandson Gavin L. Rumuly.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 28, 2016 at 11 am. At Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania with visitation being held one hour before. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Jude at stjude.org are requested.
