Patricia "Patti" (Hart) Witmer, 72, of Lake of the Woods, passed away at Mary Washington Hospital on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Patti was born on February 4, 1943 to Charles Edgar and Hazel (Hartman) Hart in Salisbury, NC. She received an Associates Degree from Brevard College, in Brevard, NC. Patti has lived in the Fredericksburg area since1967. She married David B. Witmer, IV in April of 2001 at Lake of the Woods. She retired from Davenport and Company, Fredericksburg. After which, she loved to travel, enjoyed nature, art and was an avid photographer.
Survivors include her husband, David; daughter; Amy (James) Doyle; step-son; David B (Rita) Witmer; Step-daughter; Sherry (Matthew) Halphen; Brother; Bruce (Sue) Hart; six grandchildren; Megan Morgan Scott-Ackerman, Brandon, Christopher and Jamie Tignor, Stephen and Brandon Halphen, David B. Witmer, V.
Visitation will be Wednesday December 9, 2015 at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, Spotsylvania, from 6 to 8 p.m. with Funeral services on Thursday December 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David Erickson officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the ALS Association, 7507 Standish Pl.
